Georges Lemaitre (1894-1966) is the father of the Big Bang Theory...He was both a Belgian scientist and cosmologist, and a Catholic priest...He believed that the Big Bang Theory was in the context of Let there be Light in the beginning of things...In 1927 he published a little know paper which provided a compelling solution to the equations of General Relativity for the case of an expanding universe...Lemaitre believed that at a certain point in time there was this Big Bang, a particle exploding at a single point in time...the Big Bang Theory was a Spiritual Thing for him...He made this Big Bang Theory known to others in the late 1920's, after Russian mathematician Alexander Friedmann in 1922, who was principally interested in the mathematics of a range of idealized solutions (including expanding and contracting universes) and did not pursue the possibility that one of them might actually describe the physical universe...
Georges Lemaitre believed there was two ways to find the truth in things: faith and in science...
I find it interesting the one who came up with one of the first idea's and the father of the Big Bang Theory was not only a believer, but also a Catholic Priest...
This Lemaître-Friedman model came to be called, thus describes a universe which is not eternal in the past, but which came into being a finite time ago...Moreover, the origin gives us an single point of origin of time and that creation came out of nothing...So we have a point in time that is "in the beginning."...And that the universe was expanding...
The original Big Bang Theory was started by the Catholic Priest Georges Lemaitre...Lemaitre thought of the theory in terms of the Spiritual...There was a beginning and God started the universe with a Big Bang...But others have taken the Big Bang to be less Spiritual, and some have tried to take God out of the Big Bang Theory...The scientific Big Bang Theory, in taking God out of the Big Bang Theory, therefore, contradicts the Bible and God...But if the Big Bang's Creator is God and God is Spiritual, then creation has to have an important Spiritual Author in the Theory and more thoughts need to be given on the Spirituality components of the heavens and universe and the earth...
What was before the Big Bang?...What caused the Big Bang?...Is it possible to an event like the Big Bang (or any event) without a cause?...Can the heavens and earth begin without any cause?...Some quantum physicists believe that something can come from nothing, but Catholic Priest Georges Lemaitre thought the Big Bang was a religious event...And he is the Father of the Big Bang Theory...The Big Bang to him had a Big Banger, who is God...
Numbers and mathematics seem to point to God...Symmetry and patterns point to God...Order points to God...Design points to God...Math points to a Cause and to God...Math is a universal truth and a universal law...Math and numbers and formula and equations seem to have always to have been in existence...And one of the biggest proponents of math and equations are scientists...Math and numbers explain many things in and about nature to scientists...How can something be created out of nothing, nil, nobody, zero, and absolutely no math, no physics at the time -because nothing existed?...Or how did math get into the universe and its creation?...What or who caused this Big Bang to happen?...And why?...
Those of science have asked the theist what caused God?...Scientists want an explanation or a formula for all things...And again can we think in terms of Spirit and Spirituality...But eventually the believer and science get to the chicken or egg question, and which came first?...Can Someone or a Being exist beyond our natural laws and beyond nature?...God, who is Spirit, can He create something physical out of nothing?...Can a Being exist without a cause and be the One who created nature and these laws?...When we look at a watch or a building, we believe that these things were built or created by someone...When we look at nature the atheist does not ask who built it or who created it...The believer believes that God created nature...In the case of nature, we only have two beliefs, Someone or Something created it, or it is created by randomness...
For me to believe in this theory and believe that it does not have a Spirituality component, I must believe that my ancestors were not alive as men and women in their beginning, but were mere chemicals...My ancestors came from not flesh and bone, but from chemicals or a chemical soup...And my ancestors were more than one chemical...So my oldest ancestors were dead chemicals that got together and were in a Big Bang or something that caused this Big Bang...This Big Bang then came from nothing, then maybe the bang changed something into chemicals, then to simple cells, and now to man...So my ancestor of chemicals came together and the world started, but they did not start to have life, as we know it, until later...And this happened billions of years ago before man existed, because man came much later after the Big Bang Theory, and after the evolution of man (from bang to chemicals to an organism and eventually to man)...
So, if I believe this then I believe I am here randomly and have evolved from a group of chemicals –and I must believe that I am still evolving...Man is always changing and will always be changing because evolution will take us further into whatever and wherever evolution takes us...So, for those who believe that the Big Bang does not include God, there is no heaven, no hell, just what happened to come out of these chemicals that were getting together and happening...Believing this then the universe happened, out of this chemical disruption and sent everything flying through space and the spaces of the universe...But how the universe got here I cannot imagine in this process...And this means nothing is related, everything in the universe is random...There was and is no good, no evil, no morals, no ethics, no nothing...Just planets and things flying through the universe...And yet somehow there is earth with men and women flying in this planet and stars wondering asking how and why...
So after our ancestors of chemicals got together and united we eventually, billions of years later, become a one-celled creature, and from that and time we all have evolved...Each and everyone of us were one celled creatures, I guess...And then we evolved...I suppose each and everything like finches and pandas and chimpanzees and humans, evolved from these one cell creatures to who we are today...You can see the creatures all on an original Tree of Life or all on the first chemical based carbon-like units chart...But where did these original chemicals come from?...Did they come from out of nothing?...How did these original chemicals create this Big Bang?...
But I believe we are all related...God created all things and all things are related...This means everything is related from rock to mountain to water to dog to man to the most distant of planets...Everything is related to God in Creation...We are united by God, through His Creative creation process...We are in His family...We are more than a collection of chemicals that brought us together one day in history, a long, long time ago...There is This Great Connection and interconnectedness of all things in the universe, from the smallest particles to the vast cosmos...This interconnectedness suggests a underlying unity and purpose...This belief suggests a God Designer, A Single Source, and a God Connection of everything in the universe...
And as we grown from generation to generation to today, I and we have thoughts, but can I take my thoughts seriously...An interesting fact, I have trouble with my thoughts...I suffer from anxiety, caused by negative thoughts...I suffer from negative thinking -and this negative thinking brings on anxiety...My thoughts race and get gummed up, sometimes stuck, and I overthink, and it is just a part of my evolution process for those who believe in the evolution...The reptilian amygdala as they describe it originally evolved for survival and survival instincts, so when one feared something you could or would either run away or you would stand and fight your predator...I have read many times, by many different authors, that this fear-flight mechanism, called the amygdala, in my brain is much older than the other parts of my brain...The fight or flight part developed first so that I could run away from tigers, and lions, and bears...Now, according to evolutionists, I find myself running from my own negative thoughts, because of this millions of year old reptilian amygdala...I wish the amygdala would evolve more and gotten better, so many of us would not have these mood disorders...Being anxious much of the time with one's thoughts is not something that feels pleasant...
But the question arises, is how did we get thoughts, even negative ones?...Did thoughts just evolve too?...Do all animals and living things have thoughts?...And how was man able to take his thoughts and turn them into speech?...How did he gain sight and hear things?...How did he come to get senses?....Why hasn't the other animals and living creatures brains evolved and allowed their thoughts to turn into speech?...Will all animals and living things in the next billions of years be able to turn their thoughts into speech and communicate together and with us?...
So how are thoughts rational and logical, if the brain originally was created and evolved from chemicals that are no more than something random, as a random thought?...How did years and years of time make my thoughts logical and rational?...Can I be sure that I can believe these negative thoughts or any evolved thought for that matter?...Why do I still fear these thoughts, if they are just fearful reactions to a chemical reaction?...Why would a chemical reaction in the brain, be fearful?...Did this original Big Bang start this whole process of anxiety symptoms?...
It seems to me that the Big Bang theory and the theory of evolution often get mixed together...They are two different theories...They are not one theory...We could have had the Big Bang without evolution and there could have been evolution without a Big Bang...The two are both theories and I suspect information will get added and taken away from both theories as time progresses...They are just theories...When Darwin wrote about the theory of evolution, he did not have a Big Bang theory to add to his thoughts about evolution...The Big Bang theory came much later after Darwin...The Big Bang Theory came to us in the late 1920's by a Catholic Priest named Georges Lemaitre...
Some people may believe in evolution and some may believe in the Big Bang Theory and some people may believe in both...Those that believe in Darwinism and those that do not believe God was responsible for the Big Bang Theory miss out on faith, they miss the Spirituality component of creation...And if either the Big Bang Theory, without God, and evolution are true then there is no meaning to life...Man has no purpose...Without God the theories are impersonal, random, unfeeling ideas and death is the final victor...Then there is no difference in plants, animals, and humans, except for the different physical appearances and how we have evolved into a different type of specie versus all the other living things...If these theories are correct (and do not include our Father), then there is no eternity, and the writings of the Bible are all just lies...There is no resurrection, then there is no after life...There is nothing sacred and holy...
If either of these theories are truth, then why do we need morality and laws?...Why even have morality and rules of law?...Why feel guilty after you have done something wrong?...Why do we need goodness and choose goodness, if there is no God?...Why do we need happiness?...Why be good?...Why not be evil?...If there is no One to judge our moral values and our love then why not just be evil?...
As one reads these ideas and theories, then you can see why faith is very, very important to many...And why the Father and the Son are so important...
There is a First Cause Argument for God is also called an Uncalled Cause Argument...Nothing is just here on earth or in the skies about without a cause or a reason...Some argue this in "the which came first, the chicken or the egg question."...Everything that is on earth and in the heavens had a cause...Creation had a purpose...God gave it a purpose and gives it meaning...We, as mankind, just did not get here by popping into existence...Each of us got here by our parents, and our parent's parents and their parent's parents, and so on...So down many centuries ago there had to be the first parents...There had to be an Adam and an Eve or a few or several Adam's and Eve's...
The Big Bang is a Theory that tries to explain to us how the universe started in the beginning through chemicals, starting from nothing and without a cause...The universe was in a hot and dense state that started to expand rapidly, and through a tremendous expansion a Big Bang happened... But where did the chemicals, (atoms and elements) and the heat and the denseness come from?...Were all things prior to the Big Bang that were formless and empty and in total darkness (Genesis 1:2)?...How did mankind evolve out of a primitive soup and this loud explosion?...It could have happened this way fifteen billion years ago, but what caused the Big Bang?...And how did this Big Bang fine tune the earth for not only plants to live, but fish and sea animals to live and to sustain life?...And also include (in that Big Bang) that animals walk the earth, and how is mankind to exist and continue to exist?...I personally find it odd, that we are able to survive from and on these other living things (that just came into existence) that the Big Bang produced...We eat many plants, and fish from the sea, and many of the animals we eat nourish us...I better understand this process when I read that God said, "Let us make man in Our image, in Our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground." (Genesis 1:26)...
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven (Ecclesiastes 3:1)...God started time (and He is not in time) and just maybe He started our heavens and earth with a Big Bang...Nobody can make something out of nothing -except God...But Genesis and the Big Bang have much different time lines...
This unexplained First Cause is one of the reasons I believe in God...Something started in the universe that did not have a cause...Something or Someone had to start the universe and then set the universe in motion...There had to be a First Thing to set all things in motion that have happened...That First Thing is our Father in Heaven...
I have read where the universe has space ripples and gravitation waves that were created 13.8 billion years ago...I think they try to measure these things by light and the speed of light, but I really do not know anything about them...It seems these things would be very difficult to measure accurately...To many believers of the Big Bang Theory this will prove to them that the earth and universe did have a beginning...There are others who have believed, and maybe still do, that the universe has always existed...Those that believe in this, believe that universe has always and forever has been here...But those who believe in the Big Bang Theory, believe all of a sudden the stars and the light from the stars, just came on...The stars were just turned on one night...The universe has these fixed laws of physics, and these laws and ordinances are fixed in the universe, the heavens, and the earth...I do not know what the chances are that the earth and heavens have these universal laws and fixed laws, and what chances the stars just popping on one night is, and that I am writing about all these things...But I would bet the odds of these things happening are astronomical...It is hard for me to believe that the universe formed and my writing about them are just by an accident, called the Big Bang...
In reading the Bible, we are told that their was a beginning to the world and to the universe...And God was there in the beginning...And so was Jesus...The Psalmist writes that the heavens declare the Glory of God, and the skies proclaim the work of His hand...As I look to the sky and to those things around me, I do believe, that day after day they do put pour forth a speech; and night after night the moon and stars display a kind of knowledge...There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard...And we often think God is not heard, but His voice is heard and seen in the universe...It is heard when we look up and around and see these things...They voice His Glory...And it is natural to see creation as some kind of mystery...The sun, the moon, and the stars are everywhere as we look up...The stars, the skies and heavens speak of God...Their voice does go out into all the earth, and their words to the ends of the entire world...In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun, which is like a bridegroom coming forth from His pavilion, like a Champion rejoicing to run His course...It rises at one end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other; nothing is hidden from its heat...God speaks and is seen through these things...God created nature and the natural laws of the universe and the Bible, to help us understand there is a Spiritual part of the physical universe...
I do believe there is a beginning to creation and that God and Jesus were there...The infinite universe is expanding into the Eternal...I believe that God has established these physical laws of nature in the universe...These are part of His universal truths...I believe that in every creation, there is a Creator...God reveals Himself through His creation and through His book, the Bible...I believe that the LORD did set a covenant of the day and night...I believe that He has appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth...The sun, the moon, the stars the heavenly bodies, just like the seasons are fixed by the Creator...
I believe there is this Great Importance of faith in understanding the ultimate meaning and purpose of existence...I also believe that a purely materialist worldview and only believing in evolution without a spiritual dimension can lead to a sense of meaninglessness and despair...
And finally, I do believe that one night God decided to turn the stars on -just like that...And when He did there was Light...
