CUES:
Hypertension is the 6th leading cause of morbidity in the year 2021 in Barangay Lumbia, Ipil, Zambonga Sibugay
During the 2022 survey, out of 294 individuals aged 18 years old and above:
16% (48 out of 294) were suspected and unconfirmed hypertensive
19% (57 out of 294) were known hypertensive
Based on JNC 8 classification guidelines, out of 57 hypertensive individuals:
68% (39 out of 57) of the hypertensive individuals have controlled BP
14% (8 out of 57) with stage 1 hypertension
18% (10 out of 57) with stage 2 hypertension
18% or 146 individuals were smokers and 11% or 94 individuals were alcoholic
GENERAL OBJECTIVE:
To decrease the number of uncontrolled hypertensive individuals in Barangay Lumbia, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay from 32% to 10% by year 2025.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:
To enhance the knowledge of Lumbia residents on hypertension specially on its causes, prevention and complications
To enhance the skills of Barangay Health Workers and volunteers on accurate taking of blood pressure
To refine the referral system and early detection of at-risk individuals aged 18 years old and above
To enhance the monitoring system of hypertensive individuals
Cues:
Lack of trained personnel for health emergencies.
BHWs have no First Aid nor Basic Life Support Training.
Lack of equipment for health emergencies
No Barangay Emergency Response Vehicle.
Environmental Factors pose high risk for health emergencies
Distance from the nearest hospital is 7km through poor road conditions.
Poor Road Conditions present high risk for motor vehicle accidents.
General Objective:
To bolster the capacity of the barangay to respond to medical emergencies in Barangay Lumbia, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay by the year 2023.
Specific Objectives:
To empower the barangay health workers with the necessary skills to provide first aid for medical emergencies in Lumbia.
To augment the capacity of barangay health station of Lumbia to provide basic medical care and first aid through the provision of essential equipment.
To educate the residents on the recognition of emergency situations and proper response.
Cues:
43% (81 out of 190) of the surveyed households do not practice proper waste segregation.
27% (52 out of 190) dispose garbage through open dumping
33%(62 out of 190) utilize open burning as method of garbage disposal
Only 7%(13 out of 190) practice composting for biodegradable wastes
General Objective:
To increase the number of households that practice proper solid waste management from 57% to 80 in % of Barangay Lumbia, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay by the year 2025
Specific Objectives:
1. To increase the knowledge of residents on solid waste management from 27% to 80% in Barangay Lumbia, Zamboanga Sibugay by the year 2025.
2. To decrease the number of households practicing improper waste segregation from 43% to 15% in Barangay Lumbia, Zamboanga Sibugay by the year 2025.
3. To reduce the number of households practicing improper waste disposal in Barangay Lumbia, Zamboanga Sibugay by the year 2025, specifically by: a. Reducing open dumping from 27% to 10%; b. Reducing open burning from 33% to 10%; and c. Decreasing the percentage of households not practicing composting of biodegradable wastes from 93% to 70 %.
