Dear Lion Band Parents,
We wanted to share an update regarding the ongoing renovations at the Montgomery ISD Athletic Complex and Football Stadium, a major project funded through the 2022 Bond Program. We’re excited to let you know that construction is progressing well and the stadium remains on schedule to be ready by our first home football game. As part of these renovations, one of the biggest changes you’ll notice is that the home and visitor sides are changing. The newly designated home side will now be located where the visitor side used to be, and it’s undergoing significant expansion to enhance the event experience for our students, parents, fans and community. Here are a few additional updates:
● New turf has been fully installed and looks great.
● The new home parking lot has been completed. We’ll be sharing a traffic and parking map with you soon to help everyone navigate the updated layout.
● A new press box for the home side will be installed by the end of this month.
● Steel beams for the new home bleachers are being installed now, and the expansion is on track to be complete by mid-August.
While Texas weather can always present challenges, this week’s forecast looks favorable for continued progress. That said, Montgomery ISD has secured alternate stadium options in Conroe, Magnolia, and Tomball as a backup for early-season home football games. At this time, however, we anticipate being able to host our home games and performances as planned. We appreciate your continued support, flexibility, and patience as we prepare for an exciting season ahead. Whether on the sidelines or the field, we know our students are ready to showcase their hard work and represent our school and community with pride. We look forward to welcoming you to our newly renovated stadium very soon!
Sincerely, Matt Martinez Director of Bands Matthew Boozer Associate Director
