2026 Florida Trip

The Lion Band has an opportunity to travel to Florida in 2026 on Thursday, Feb. 5th, through Tuesday, Feb. 10th. This travel opportunity is to compete at the National School Band Championship and the National School Spirit Championship through Varsity Performing Arts in conjunction with the Royals dance team and our Lion Cheerleaders. The event will be held near Disney World in Orlando, and our trip will include visits to Disney parks as well as Universal Studios. 

Currently, we are trying to gauge interest in our band members attending. At this time, Mr. Martinez and I are looking for 28 students who are interested in participating in a pep band style performance. Any current junior, sophomore or freshman student is eligible to sign up. Current 8thgraders (next year's freshmen) will be offered the opportunity to sign up once the current band members have had the opportunity to sign up first.

The total cost of the trip will be comprised of the cost of air fare, five nights of hotel lodging, contest entry, theme park tickets and other associated fees. We believe that the total cost of the trip for one student or adult chaperone will be approximately $1500 before fundraising opportunities are applied to any costs.

In order to reserve a spot on this upcoming trip, we are asking for an initial $50 fee to reserve tickets for air fare. We ask that the $50 be paid by next Friday, May 23rd, by cash or check paid out to "Lion Band Boosters" along with the attached trip commitment letter. The commitment letter is also available in a physical copy in the band hall.
