What  is privacy?

Privacy refers to the ability of an individual or a group to keep their personal information, activities, and communications private and free from unauthorized access or intrusion.  One has the right to decide who sees what information about them and how it's used. 

Digital privacy is an expectation of privacy unless the user has given consent that includes an awareness of the risks associated with online services, and individual control over the collection, distribution and retention of personal information (Robertson & Muirhead, 2019).
