Cemeteries

Lincolnville has some 23 cemeteries with only a handful – Maplewood, Youngtown, Center Burying Ground, Union, Hills, Hillside and French – still in regular use. These cemeteries are private, with each governed by an association. Contact them through the link found on those cemeteries' pages. All of these are located on roadsides and easily accessible. Youngtown and French are off the road, but with a drive leading in to them

The rest of the cemeteries are maintained by the Cemetery Trustees, a town committee that meets regularly. These are on private land and can be seen with permission of the land owner, though Fletcher, Cross, Norton and Sylvester are on the roadside and can be visited without permission.

Questions pertaining to them can be addressed through the Town Administrator. In addition we've listed a few cemeteries that lie just outside the town limits – Pitcher, Griffin, and Alexander.

To locate a burial use the master list. If you see a mistake in our listings or to add a recent burial, contact the LHS.
