Rescuing your files with Linux

What you'll need:

Saving your files

Please start your PC from the USB drive.

Once started from USB, you will see "GRUB". Select the top entry that says "Start Linux Mint [version] Cinnamon 64-bit". Use the arrow keys to select and ENTER to confirm.

Once Linux Mint has started up, use the "Files" program to move the files off your PC onto another USB Drive or into the cloud. You original hard drive should be listed under "devices".

Your user folder is under "Users\[username]". There you will find folders for documents etc. If you use OneDrive, these folders are located under "Users\[username]\OneDrive".

NOTE: If your device is encrypted, you won't be able to access your files without the password.
