Here's a taste of some of my composition work outside of the electroacoustic/game audio field. My final instrumental composition for my degree, "Abiogenesis", is a musical interpretation of the process of evolution, depicting life in all its wonders, colours, and changes.
"A very creative piece with excellent exploration of timbres, and diverse approaches to the creation of organic textures"
-Dr Rosalía Soria Luz (Composition)
"Abiogenesis" refers to the natural process by which life arises from non-living matter, i.e. the origin of life. This piece explores the journey of an ecosystem of musical organisms from its origin, following its ecology and sonic biodiversity as it evolves, adapts, and flourishes. By treating sonic and biological morphology as one and the same, all sound content is explored in relation to changes in its imagined genetic code and therefore adheres to the laws and patterns of real-world evolutionary processes.
