3rd Grade Dictionaries

Each year the Garretson Legion Auxiliary presents dictionaries to the 3rd graders at Garretson Elementary. Even though ipads are wonderful, it is nice to have an actual dictionary book in hand to look up things for class and to learn new vocabulary words. 

The South Dakota American Legion Auxiliary and local American Legion posts have a long-standing tradition of presenting personal dictionaries to third-grade students across the state. This initiative is part of a broader national literacy effort tied to The Dictionary Project, a nonprofit organization aimed at ensuring every student has access to their own dictionary to foster a love of learning and bridge vocabulary gaps.
