independence Square
The main entrance to the land welcomes guests into a faithful recreation of colonial-era Boston; what many see as the birthplace of the American Revolution. Its cobblestone streets and active waterfront paint a picture of the infant years of the nation. Guests can tour active storefronts including a blacksmith, a printing press, and an inn. Cast performers will provide recreations of public speeches and readings of the writings of the founding fathers (sorry no cabinet rap battles here) and fife and drum marches. You’ll also be able to stop for a meal at the Patriot’s Hearth & Pub.
Hall of Independence
Independence Square’s main attraction is a show providing guests with a look into the founding of the nation through bringing the most famous portraits in our nation’s history to life. Set in a theater inspired by the Old State House in Boston the 14 minute show will take guests on a journey from the earliest days of protest against England to America winning her Independence. Though the famous portraits such The Shot Heard Around the World and Washington Crossing the Delaware will serve to set the scene of these moments in early American history the show will focus more on the lesser known individuals that played important roles in the fight for freedom. It tells us that for every George Washington there were dozens of patriots who joined the cause showing that we are a country whose very founding was made possible by “We the People”.
Patriots Hearth & Pub
Step into a faithfully recreated colonial pub for a pint or a bite of the homemade food; you can’t fight for Liberty on an empty stomach! Grab a seat at the bar for a cold beer or take a seat and order from a menu of American favorites; roasted beef, chicken, and fish provide a plethora of historically inspired hearty options. The Patriots Hearth & Pub also happens to be the heart of political discourse in Independence Harbor with meals frequently being interrupted by colonists on both sides of the war giving speeches to persuade you are their beliefs, we ask that you refrain from throwing your food or beverage at the tories.
Liberty’s Provisions
As you march towards Freedom make sure to stop by Liberty’s Provisions; a store featuring everything a revolutionary fighter needs. Historical merchandise, prints of famous portraits, books, and even a Tricorn hat to complete your uniform. Located in the warehouse along the docks of Independence Square the store is designed more as a discrete supplier for the Continental Army then an advertised and polished storefront.
