Eric Conrad Voelkl
LHS '65
July 1947 - December 28, 2025
Eric passed away peacefully early this morning (12-28-2025) with family being by his side. He was hospitalized for nearly two weeks with so many ailments but mainly lung and circulatory problems. He had a pacemaker placed a year ago. He contacted pneumonia last week and then came down with an infection two days ago.
Per his request there will be no funeral service per se. He will be cremated and ashes will be buried at the military cemetery in Titusville. He wanted to be with his Vietnam buddies. He choose the Neptune Society for cremation.
Eric was a transplanted Yankee from Pittsburgh, PA and a graduate of Lee High School in Huntsville, Alabama, Class of 1965. Eric’s Vietnam military medals (Purple Heart, Silver Star, two Bronze Stars, et al) will stay proudly with his family. He gave his all … lest we forget!
Ralph Lewis Brewer
LHS '66
August 19th, 1946 - December 24th, 2025
(Editor's Note: In the published obituary in The Huntsville Times, Lewis is listed as having graduated from Lee in 1967, however, he is included as a member of the Class of 1966 in that year's edition of The Silver Sabre yearbook. Lewis was a close personal friend of mine. He, along with Bob Walker, David France, Larry Bryant, and I were often seen together cruising between Shoney's and Jerry's on the Parkway.)
Ralph Lewis Brewer, 79 of Huntsville Alabama passed away on December 24th, 2025. Lewis was born to Aaron Brewer and Martha Brewer in Huntsville on August 19th, 1946.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Judy Brewer. Sister Jane Brewer. Son Philip Brewer, his wife Crystal Brewer. Son Tim Brewer, his wife Julie Brewer. And grandchildren Aaron, Oliver and Finn Brewer. Step-Daughter Brandy Mosley and husband Brian. Step-son Jeff Clark. And step-grandchildren Meredith, Madison Mosley and Justin Clark.
Lewis graduated from Lee High School in 1967 and also joined the United States Navy the same year. He was an aircraft engine mechanic with squadron VF-84 aboard the USS Independence. After leaving the Navy he attended Drake State with a focus on HVAC repair. Lewis retired from the Aerospace division of PPG in 2012.
Lewis loved working on, tinkering with and driving cars. He was an avid reader who almost always had a book nearby. He loved fishing ever since he was a kid and went often. Lewis was also a motorcycle fan - owning two Harleys. Papa Lew, as he was known, also loved his Grandkids and he loved being with them.
Interment will be at Valhalla Memory Gardens
