I notice when the dancers...
My favorite part of the dance was...
I tried these dance moves...
Draw or show off my favorite move!
Put your whole foot on the ground at the same time, making a loud noise
Put your toe down first,
then your heel
Stretch your arms out wide, then swing them back towards your body
Hard clap, very loud
Soft clap, very quiet
I will try my own flamenco combination. I can be the dancer (trying the moves myself) or the choreographer (directing the dancer on what to do).
I will try a STOMP and a TAP
I will add ARM MOVEMENTS
I will stretch my arms wide and move in slow circles.
I will add HAND CLAPS
Watch the video again, this time adding stomps, taps, arm movements and hand claps.
Soledad Barrio and Noche Flameco are often called “spellbinding.” What does that mean? Do you agree?
What do you notice about the dancers’ facial expressions?
How do the dancers move differently to guitar or to percussion?
What other dance forms does flamenco remind you of?
