Parents:
If you would like to volunteer to be a Backstage Mom for your child’s class to help assist with your child and other backstage duties; then, you may sign up online by using one of the below links depending on which show your child is in. ALL BACKSTAGE MOMS & RECITAL VOLUNTEERS MUST BE PRESENT FOR THE FRIDAY REHEARSAL AND SATURDAY RECITAL - ON TIME! If your child is in two or more different classes, you can only be a backstage mom for one class. You will need to sign up to be a recital volunteer if your child is in multiple classes for the 6:30 show. The boys will have their own dressing room together, and will not be with their class. Beside each sign up there is a number. This is the number of moms needed for that particular class. Once a class is full, it will be closed off. When signing up please include your child’s name, your name, and email in the provided slots.

Parents will enter the auditorium and take students to the backstage area dressing rooms to check in with the backstage mom. The backstage mom is responsible for making sure their assigned class remains quiet backstage, no one is eating or drinking, and helping to keep students occupied between performances. Backstage moms pay close attention and follow directions from LCDC backstage coordinators to make sure their class lines up on time to perform. If a child has multiple classes in one show, the parent is responsible for changing their child in between performances. If you do not want to go back and forth between performances and would rather stay backstage the duration with your child, you MUST sign up to be a backstage mom. If you are not an approved volunteer you will be asked to leave. The backstage mom will not enter or exit until their child’s class is done performing, but has the best seat in the house! You get to watch your child perform from the wings of the stage. We will not force a child to go onstage if they do not want to. If you think your child will only go onstage with you being with them, then you should sign up as a backstage mom. After a class is done performing, they will be dismissed to the dressing room with the backstage mom. Parents will come and check them out immediately or they will go with their next class routine. If you sign up to be a backstage mom you need to be able to be at the Friday rehearsal at 4:15pm and Saturday recital at 9:30am.

Parents will enter the auditorium and take students to the backstage area dressing rooms. Some classes will have a backstage mom volunteer. If you would like to be a backstage mom the duration of the recital and stay backstage with your child please sign up online. If you would like to be a backstage mom, but do not see your child’s class listed please email us separately. ABSOLUTELY NO ONE INCLUDING PARENTS WILL BE ALLOWED TO ENTER AND EXIT THE AUDITORIUM FOR THE 6:30 SHOW! Students will be responsible for costume and shoe changes along with keeping up with the actual show. If you do not feel that your child is capable of changing in and out of multiple costumes (if they are in more than one class) or taking the initiative to ask a volunteer for help, you need to sign up to be a backstage mom and stay the duration of the recital with your child. Backstage moms are allowed to watch their child’s routines from the wings of the stage. All students & volunteers will stay backstage the duration of the recital. We plan to have a curtain call at the end in which all students of the 6:30 show will be welcomed back to the stage. Once the curtain call is over all students will be dismissed by class with the backstage mom to the dressing room. The backstage mom is responsible for making sure their assigned class remains quiet backstage, no one is eating and or drinking, and helping to keep students occupied. Backstage moms and recital volunteers will help students line up for routines and assist in combo class changes. We will not force a child to go onstage if they do not want to. If you think your child will only go onstage with you being with them then you should sign up as a backstage mom. Closer to recital you will be given dressing room assignments. Some students will be assigned to a “quick changes” dressing room if they are in multiple routines or routines that are close together. Recital Cast including main characters and opening/closing cast will have a dressing space as well. To be backstage YOU MUST SIGN UP! If you are not on LC’s master list the day of rehearsal/recital you may not stay backstage! If you sign up you need to be able to be at the Friday rehearsal at 6:15 and Saturday recital at 5:45.
