⭐ Be a Recital VIP –
Volunteer as a LCDC Backstage Mom! ⭐
One of the most fun and special ways to experience recital is by volunteering as a Backstage Mom! Not only do you get to help our dancers have an amazing recital experience, but you’ll also get the BEST seat in the house — watching your dancer perform from the wings of the stage!
Backstage Moms help keep things running smoothly behind the scenes while supporting their dancer and classmates. If you love being part of the excitement and want a front-row view of the magic, this is the perfect opportunity!
If you would like to volunteer, please sign up using the link for the show your child is performing in.

What Do Backstage Moms Do?
Backstage Moms are a huge part of making recital run smoothly! Volunteers help by:
• Keeping their assigned class organized and quiet backstage
• Making sure no food or drinks are in the dressing areas
• Helping keep dancers calm, happy, and occupied between routines
• Following directions from LCDC staff to ensure dancers line up on time
• Escorting their class to and from the stage
Bonus perk: You’ll get to watch your dancer perform right from the wings of the stage!
Important Volunteer Guidelines
To help recital run smoothly, please note:
• All Backstage Moms and Recital Volunteers MUST attend both the Friday rehearsal and Saturday recital for their assigned show.
• If your child is in multiple classes, you may only sign up as a Backstage Mom for one class.
• If your child is in multiple classes in the 6:30 show, you will need to sign up as a recital volunteer instead.
• Each class has a limited number of volunteer spots available. Once the spots are filled, the sign-up will close.
• When signing up, please include your name, your child’s name, and your email address.
If you think your dancer may feel more comfortable performing with you close by backstage, this is a great way to support them!

The 6:30 show is our largest production, so it runs a little differently.
• Parents will not be able to enter and exit the auditorium during the show.
• Dancers and volunteers will remain backstage for the duration of the recital.
• Recital volunteers will be assigned to dressing areas close to their dancer to assist students.
If your dancer has multiple routines or quick costume changes and may need help, we strongly recommend signing up as a Backstage Mom so you can stay backstage with them.
Backstage Moms and volunteers will help:
• Line dancers up for routines
• Assist with quick changes for combo classes
• Help keep dancers organized and performance-ready
Some dancers will be assigned to a Quick Change dressing room if their routines are close together. Final dressing room assignments will be shared closer to recital.
At the end of the show, all dancers will return to the stage for the final Curtain Call celebration!
After curtain call, Backstage Moms will escort dancers back to their dressing rooms for parent pickup.
Volunteer Arrival Times:
Friday Rehearsal: 6:15 PM
Saturday Recital: 5:45 PM
