2025 PICTURE WEEK INFO

The studio’s photographer this year is Jennifer Blackwell. You may view her work on her website: http://bit.ly/1R4zJfH. She has done a wonderful job for 8 seasons photographing our students, so we are excited to have her back for an ninth year! Below you will find information regarding your child’s photo time, day, etc. PLEASE NOTE - SOME CLASSES ARE COMBINED FOR PICTURES SO PLEASE READ CAREFULLY TO SEE WHEN YOUR CHILD COMES FOR PICTURES. SOME WILL ALSO COME OUTSIDE OF THEIR NORMAL CLASS TIME. ALL PHOTOS ARE TAKEN AT THE LCDC BYRAM LOCATION. Please let us know if you have any questions. We want to help make picture weeks a great week for you and your child!

Picture week is MARCH 21-MARCH 27

General Reminders:

• If you are not participating in the recital you do not have to come to picture day. These pictures are what is used in the program book for the recital. Everyone must have a costume to participate in the group picture.If you are not participating in recital but would like an individual picture taken in tumble or dance wear you may do so.

• Group pictures are used in the program book. If you are not here for picture day you will not be in the group picture for the program book. Please make every effort to attend picture day for your group photo.

• If you ordered your costume after the final deadline of November 15th there is a chance that one or more of your costumes will not be in for picture day. You may still have pictures taken for the individual Salute Pages, but you will not be in the group picture without a costume. All costumes will be sent out by February 28th. If you do not have your costume by February 28th please touch base with us.

• Being on time and ready is VERY important. If you are late, you throw the entire schedule of the day off. If you are not ready at your start time you will not be in the group picture. BE ON TIME!

• To use individual pictures for salute pages you will need to purchase pictures or packages from the photographer to buy rights to the photos.

• Students must arrive in FULL costume and picture day make-up and hair (makeup optional). Full costume includes correct tights, shoes, AND all other accessories (included with costume). Please have all final preparations such as: mending, sewing, and altering No underwear under any costumes.Tights are dancer’s underwear, and cheer bloomers are athlete’s underwear. 

• Please make sure tights don't have holes in them and that shoes are clean and correct color. This is a good time to double check all of your supplies/costumes for recital to make sure you are ready to go.

• ALL PICTURES WILL BE TAKEN AT LCDC Byram Location in Studio C!

• Please make sure to fill out your order form and come in to pay with your child on picture day. Please wait OUTSIDE of the picture room until your child is done. If we need your assistance we will come and get you :) However, we find that students respond better when guardians are not in the room with them.

• After pictures, proofs will be posted in an online gallery for you to view for your salute pages for the program book and to purchase.  

Ordering Pictures:

You will order pictures on photo day. We will email order forms the week prior to picture week as well as have some outside of Studio C on your picture day. There are a lot of great options for photos!

For recital photos and costume inspection:

New costume worksheets with pictures are being posted in the lobby soon. They are on our recital website NOW - Recital Webpage: https://sites.google.com/view/lcdcrecitalinformation. If you have questions about accessories, color of tights/shoes, etc please view your costume instructions at one of the above resources. Students must wear costumes (including all parts and pieces), proper color tights and shoes. Recital pictures will be taken at LCDC, in conjunction with costume inspection. The photographer will be taking group photos in one costume (combo classes will wear their ballet costume for the group picture - so arrive in ballet costume first) and offering individual shots in both costumes for purchase that may be used for Salute Pages in our program book. The choice is yours as to whether or not you would like to purchase individual or group photos; however, if you are planning to use your individual picture for your Salute Page(s) you must purchase your pictures from the photographer. We will have some of our teachers and studio assistants on hand to help pose the students for the pictures. Please make every effort to make sure your child is present for recital pictures -- even if you don't want to purchase a group shot, we still like to have everyone present in the group photos. The group photo is used for our recital program book and other advertisements. For the recital, your child’s teacher will instruct you on how they must wear their hair. For picture day, however, you may fix your child’s hair any way you like for individual pictures. However, ONLY wear accessories included with your child’s costumes. No extra bows, beads, or hair pieces. All dancers in Ballet I-IV will need to wear their hair in a bun for the GROUP ballet photo. Please pull hair back and out of the face for pictures. Ballet buns do look best for dance pictures and ponytails for tumble. Makeup is encouraged for pictures but not required. Please make sure that your child’s name is labeled on all costume tags, costume accessories, and on dance or tumble shoes - DO NOT WRITE NAMES ON BOTTOM OF SHOES! NO jewelry of any kind, NO nail polish, and NO underwear! Please make sure that ribbons on ballet shoes are tucked in securely!

DADDY DAUGHTER PICTURES:

This year we are offering the option to take Daddy/Daughter pictures courtesy of Jennifer Blackwell Photography. Please note the scheduled time for Daddy/Daughter participants to come take their photo. Wouldn’t you love to commemorate the special dance you and your daughter will share on stage at LCDC’s Recital 2025!? Daddies should wear their tux or suit they plan to wear on stage, and of course the daughters should wear their lovely white dresses for the photos. Please let us know if you have any questions!

COMPETITION DANCE & CHEER TEAM:

Come for regular practice during picture week on Friday, March 21st. We will take competition dance team pictures on Saturday, March 22nd and AllStar Team Pictures on Wednesday, March 26th. ALL DANCE & CHEER MEMBERS NEED TO BE PRESENT FOR PICTURES. We will be doing a group photo. If you would like individual photos you can do those as well at this time. DANCE WEARS TEAMWEAR & COSTUMES (BRING BOTH). ALLSTARS JUST NEED THEIR UNIFORMS.
