For another year LCA began the year with its annual retreat. For as long as they can remember they have gone to High Hill Christian Camp for a fun day before the “real school” begins. Everyone enjoyed hanging out with friends playing a variety of games, eating lunch, and swimming.
After they arrived they went to the chapel. For this year's chapel, Dr. Kerr, the new Director of School Operations, gave a very inspirational message. Next, they were split into their families and got to know others in their families. Later, they played games until lunch. After lunch, they had an enjoyable time swimming in the pool. If you weren’t swimming in the pool, you were getting blobbed or riding the zipline into the lake. This was also the first time in several years that boys were allowed to swim without a shirt. This was a big thing for them because none of the boys like swimming with shirts, as they make swimming uncomfortable and unenjoyable. For very good reason, every male enjoyed this freedom. After another fantastic fun-filled Friday they returned home. Just as in years past everyone had a good time and they are all looking forward to next year's retreat.
