A Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) is an essential part of agricultural education that allows students to take what they've learned in the classroom and apply it in a real-world setting. Through an SAE, students gain valuable hands-on experience by planning, carrying out, and tracking a project related to agriculture. Every student is required to have an SAE, and they will document their progress and time spent working on their project using the Agricultural Experience Tracker (AET). Whether it’s working on a farm, running a small ag-related business, or conducting research, an SAE helps students build skills, explore careers, and connect classroom learning to real-life experiences.
What are SAE's that LP FFA members have?
Numerous members show and sell livestock at the Silver Dollar and Butt County fairs.
Many students have been employed at feed stores, meat markets, and Ag related mechanics shops.
A majority of students maintain gardens and have landscaping businesses.
Students will clear brush and trees to help with wildfire prevention and sell the wood.
...and so much more!
