Animal Management is the capstone course in the animal science pathway. This course provides students with employable skills in animal management, building on prior agriculture knowledge to cover animal feeding, facilities maintenance, and general management. Students will perform various duties on the LPHS Farm while maintaining records of their activities. The course also covers animal nutrition, including nutrients like protein, energy, vitamins, and the formulation of balanced rations for livestock. Students are also eligible to be placed at a work based learning site related to the course. Participation in FFA activities and the development of a Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) are required.
