The Agricultural Mechanics pathway provides students with foundational and advanced skills in modern agricultural mechanics, covering areas like welding, equipment operation, electrical systems, and agricultural structures. Students will gain hands-on experience in oxyfuel welding, electric welding, maintenance, and fabrication, along with leadership development and record keeping through Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) projects.

Ag Mechanics I

Ag Mechanics I is the introductory course for the Ag Mechanics pathway. This course introduces students to the foundational skills and knowledge used in modern agricultural mechanics. Topics include welding, equipment maintenance, plumbing, electrical systems, safety, and fabrication, along with leadership development and record keeping. Participation in FFA activities and the development of a Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) are required.

Ag Mechanics II

Agricultural Mechanics II is the concentrator course that builds on foundational skills in the Ag Mechanics pathway. Students refine their knowledge through hands-on instruction in welding, plumbing, equipment maintenance, electrical systems, and agricultural construction, with a strong focus on safety and project work. Participation in FFA activities and the development of a Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) are required.

Farm Management

Farm Management is our advanced course in the Ag Mechanics pathway. This course teaches students employable skills in farm and ranch management with a focus on agricultural mechanics. Students will build on previous agriculture knowledge to learn equipment operation, maintenance, and repair, along with managing crops, orchards, vineyards, and agricultural facilities. They will also perform various tasks on the LPHS Farm while maintaining records of their activities. Students are also eligible to be placed at a work based learning site related to the course work. Participation in FFA activities and the development of a Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) are required.
