IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Dear Computer Science Club Members,
After holding a captain meeting, as well as a new captain election, we have decided to merge PIP and CS club into a single club that meets on Mondays (because of overlap, among other issues).
As such, CS Club will no longer be meeting on Tuesdays this year. The new CS Club will meet on Mondays, but only when the new captains are ready.
What this means for this and next year:
The new club, CS Club, will meet on Mondays. However, meetings are currently suspended until the new captains indicate otherwise.
The new captains are Charlie Kalapati (next year's club/department coordinator), Suhani Mundra, Ike Roy, and Tasneem Ahmed
Tuesday meetings for the old CS Club are canceled
You may note, this also opens a time slot for a new LASA{CS} club on Tuesdays. If you have ideas, you may contact the current club captains to work things out. Note that the club must be substantially different from the general, presentation-based model of CS Club.
It was great to be a part of the 2025 PIP/CS Club community! Thanks for understanding!
Sincerely,
The Senior LASA CS Club Captains
Maxim, Nimah, Rachit
Meetings are temporarily suspended.

Ike Roy
Suhani Mundra

The Computer Science club is mainly centered around the two main interests of computer science students: competitions and projects. Competitions come in wide varieties, covering topics like mathematically rigorous computer science, competitive programming, security, networking, web design, and much more. The most popular competitions at LASA are CTFs, USACO, NACLO, UIL, and CyberPatriot. Projects are independent creations made by students whether they are websites, applications, or research.
Of course, this is making the club sound way too high-brow. Really, the computer science club is a community of people who want to help each other improve in the field they enjoy (and get into a good college).
Be sure to join the mailing list when you sign up for the club to avoid missing out on competition dates, guest lectures, and club activities.
The CS Club at LASA was created a long time ago, even before the frightening period we now know as the “COVID times.” Indeed, the club has had a rich history of presentations and engagement, a history that has passed from one generation to the next. After CS Club was created, some people took issue with the fact that it was too focused on the academic and formal aspects of computer science. In response, the club PIP (“Programming in Practice”) was founded by Gabriel Keller (class of 2024), and greatly popularized under Adrian Casares (class of 2025). However, due to declining club membership and similarity in vision, the clubs were merged in 2025 under new leadership. We hope to continue being the greatest CS Club at LASA. Go raptors!
