Clubs!

Computer science is a broad field in which everyone can find a place for themselves. In fact, LASA{CS} is composed of six clubs, each specializing in a different area of computer science, so don't be afraid to try out a few clubs and see which interest you most! Feel free to look at the information below to learn more about each of our comprehensive offerings:

• • Women+ in Computer Science (WICS+) Mondays (505) – A fun, interactive, inclusive, and community-centric way to explore CS for anyone willing! Build your skills through lessons, mini-projects and challenges in a variety of domains, then spend the second semester giving back to your community through volunteering and a student-led Semester Project <3

  • Computer Science Club Wednesdays (505) – The main computer science club of LASA. We cover various kinds of CS topics, learn about UIL and international CS competitions, work on theme-based hackathons/projects, and have guest presentations. Develop your programming skills through collaborative programming projects, learn about the vast field of computer science with our active and invested community, and help middle schoolers find their love for CS.

  • Hack Club Wednesdays (506)– Join a global community of over 14,000 Hack Clubbers like you, prepare for hackathon competitions, and apply your coding skills to solve real-world problems through weekly workshops!

  • CyberPatriot Thursdays (505) – Learn about cybersecurity, gain hands-on experience, and prepare your team for CyberPatriot, the international cybersecurity competition wherein teams of five thoroughly secure multiple computer systems.

All of our clubs are set up so that no experience is required. If you have any questions, feel free to speak with a captain or member of any club – we're always available on Discord or on days our clubs meet.
