A boss fight designed for the existing game Limes Legends.
This prototype was developed during Project Show Me at my time at the HKU. We were tasked to develop a new mechanic or encounter for the game Limes Legends made by Mindless Games. We had around 5 weeks in total for this project.
This prototype was developed by 5 students, including 3 designers (of which 2 minor students including me) and 2 artists. I programmed the boss state machine, the player movement and the other logic. I also did the post processing for the glow effects and implemented the VFX the artist made.
The goal of the boss fight is to feed all three dog mouths so Cerberus goes to sleep and the player can enter the realm of Hades.
Both players have different tasks that switch every time a mouth of the dog has been fed.
One of the players can grab a tail to trigger the behaviour of one of the heads and has to button mash to not fall off the tail.
The left head tries to bite the player and throw it away into the lava pits.
The middle head barks at the player and tries to knock it into the lava.
The right head drools and cowers away as the player walks towards the dog. The drooling makes the player slip and drop the pie.
