Stage 1
1) Why is it important to take action?
First, you will individually watch a video by Ted-Ed about what our world will look like in 2050 if we do nothing. (You can pause and rewind, if needed).
Then, work in pairs to do the following activity that summarizes some of the actions and consequences explained in the video (and we'll revise first conditional!). As you do it, write the examples in your folder to keep a record.
2) Some useful concepts to talk about the environment
How many words related to the environment do you know? In this part we will focus on vocabulary, because you will later on read some articles with specific lexical items. You will work individually to read Environmental vocabulary expressions. Then, you will choose one and create a post it on ideaboardz explaining what the concept is. Be careful! You cannot repeat a word chosen by your classmates!
Great! Now you know what will happen in the future if we do nothing, what are the consequences, and you also know several vocabulary items related to this topic.
3) Get your topic.
Next stage it'll be time for teamwork: You will form four groups of four people each. Your group will randomly be assigned an environmental issues. The options are: Pollution, climate change, deforestation and waste.
