Stetson University Changemakers Academy
Changemakers Academy is a free, 4-day overnight summer program for rising high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors who want to turn their passion for social justice into real-world impact. Through interactive workshops with Stetson faculty, current students, and community leaders, participants will explore critical social issues, build community organizing and leadership skills, and develop a concrete plan to create positive change in their local community.
All costs are covered - including tuition, housing, meals, and activities - for a cohort of 25 participants.
Students get a dedicated Stetson mentor to help guide their progress, including support with their change-making project and, if they apply to college, assistance in navigating the admissions process.

University of Chicago Summer Pre-college Program
Check out the 1 Week Enrichment Programs from UChicago, which are both residential programs and online courses!
The programs are versatile, including leadership, civil discourse, analysis of complex problems, or engagement in the liberal arts.
Financial aid is also available, including funding to cover round-trip travel expenses for students who qualify. Students whose annual household income is $125,000 or less are automatically eligible for a waiver of the $2,500 program fee, and students whose household income is $60,000 or less are also eligible for a waiver of round-trip travel expenses. The application fee is automatically waived for students applying for aid.
We encourage you to complete the Summer Session application by March 12th to be considered for the enrichment programs.
Swarthmore Fly-In Nomination Opportunity
Swarthmore College is one of the nation's top liberal arts and engineering colleges.

Aspen Institute's Education and Society Program
The Aspen Education & Society Program is seeking 6-8 exceptional young leaders, 18 or older (Senior Opportunity), to serve as Youth Advisory Partners (YAP) in the Rising Generations Strategy Group.
This unique opportunity brings together approximately 30 national leaders from Education, Civics, Policy, Military, Technology, and Nonprofit sectors to shape the future of K-12 education.
Unlike traditional youth advisory roles, YAP members serve as equal partners and work alongside C-suite executives, military leaders, and senior policymakers.
We're looking for individuals who bring lived experience in educational systems, strategic thinking abilities, cross-generational understanding, and leadership strengths that will contribute to high-level policy discussions and strategic decision-making.

Science National Honor Society Scholarship
Students can now begin applying for the 2026 Science National Honor Society Student Scholarship. To get started, students simply need to create an account in the scholarship platform and follow the application steps.
We encourage students to take a little time to read through the instructions carefully before beginning. Applying early is a great idea because it allows plenty of time to gather information, request letters of recommendation, and submit everything with confidence.
Requirements include being a senior and having a 3.5 unweighted GPA or higher

GATORWISE
GatorWISE, or Weekend Institutes in Science Explorations, is a program at the UF for high school students interested in science, medical fields, and hands-on research.
The program focuses on direct experience and gives students an immersive look into research and discovery in areas like medicine, genetics, and environmental sciences.
The applications open August 26th at UFCPET and will cost $60, which includes lunch.
Each weekend explores a different area of science, intending to deepen high schoolers' understanding of the following:
Biology - September 20: Inside Addiction – Discover the biology of opioids and how they affect the brain.
Forensics - October 25: DNA Detectives – Dive into the science of identity and solve mysteries with DNA!
Parasitology - November 15: Mini Vet School – Explore the wild world of parasites and animal health.
Radon Awareness
Video Contest
The Florida Department of Health is hosting its annual Radon Video Contest to raise awareness about what radon is and its dangers while also encouraging testing and reduction
The videos should be in the form of a public service announcement or a PSA and focus on topics surrounding radon, including what it is, where it comes from, how it gets into homes, and even how testing can save lives.
Videos will be judged on accuracy, originality, engagement, quality, and overall impression
Submissions must not be longer than 30 seconds, and they must be completely original, including no copyrighted characters, product logos, or trademarked names
To enter, you need to upload the video to YouTube and email the completed Video Submission Form to Michelle.Sampson@flhealth.gov
The contest opens September 1st and last until November 1st

Gator JumpStart - CPET
The Gator JumpStart is hosting a one-week on-campus summer camp for high school students who have not yet taken Biology 1 or AP Biology.
As a residential summer camp, students will live on the University of Florida campus and get an authentic taste of college life through hands-on biology experiences, small group learning, and faculty-led sessions.
Participants will work directly with UF scientists, explore active research labs and field sites, connect with other high-achieving STEM-focused peers, and build a strong foundation for future biology courses.
The camp will take place from June 22nd to June 27th on the UF campus and Applications are due June 6th

UF PRECOLLEGE SCHOLARS - CPET
The University of Florida is providing two sessions of non-credit classes that are being led by UF graduate students. These courses cover a wide range of topics, including computer science, biology, humanities, and more.
This is an excellent opportunity to challenge yourself with college-level classes with none of the stress around academic grades and progression. All courses will be online with anywhere from 8 to 24 students, and you can take as many as you want, just as long as they don't overlap with one another.

The Breakthrough Junior Challenge
The Breakthrough Junior Challenge is a global competition for students to shine, showcasing your scientific knowledge in an engaging and creative way, allowing you to use your imagination to make these complex concepts clear and captivating in a way that will impress judges and inspire eager minds worldwide.
Create a short video (Two minutes max) to explain a big idea in one of these fields: Physics, Mathematics, and Life Sciences.
Judging will be based on the following: Engagement, Illumination, Creativity, and Difficulty.
Prizes for Winning Student: Along with being honored at the Breakthrough Prize Ceremony, you will receive a $250,000 College Scholarship, a $100,000 Science Lab, and a $50,000 prize for the teacher who inspired you.

Horizon Academic Research
1-on-1 online research program
Horizon Academic Research Program is the oldest, most-prestigious 1-1 online research program for gifted high school students. students produce a research paper by working with professors/PhD scholars from places like Harvard, MIT, Yale, Dartmouth, in fields like computer science, biology, economics, and physics. Historically, Horizon has accepted less than 26% of students who apply.

Two UCF Summer Institutes (SI) focus on Computer Science and have levels from those just beginning their programming journey to those who are wanting to hone their competitive skills. More details can be found at https://siucf.cs.ucf.edu/.
SI Computer Science will run from June 9 - June 27. The program is a three-week day institute for students who have interest in learning the foundations of computer science and computer technology. There are three courses available based on your level of expertise.

We are excited to announce the 3rd year of the NASA MUREP Aerospace Academy hosted at the University of Central Florida! Two information sessions will be held over the coming weeks to describe the program and our mission, as well as what the students will be doing this year. The Year 3 capstone project involves Power Management and Distribution, with students learning how to build a solar-tracking panel, how energy is generated and stored on the ISS, and how various systems that need power are assigned importance and programmed to shut down as power is depleted.

Trubel&co be offering their free, virtual STEM course, Mapping Justice, to rising 11th and 12th graders in Florida this summer. Students who complete the 8-week course will have the opportunity to earn 3 transferrable college credits for free from University of Massachusetts Global.

The program runs from June 10 - Aug 2 and is entirely online, and free for students.
Classes take place two nights a week, and the weekly time commitment is about ~12 hours (this includes time spent in class and office hours, plus completing weekly assignments, and collaborating with classmates)

Inspirit AI is a 25-hour project-based AI program that introduces middle and high school students to fundamental AI concepts to build impactful projects across STEM and humanities.

The Young Scholars Program (YSP) is a six-week residential science and mathematics summer program for Florida high school students with significant potential for careers in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
Eligibility:
Maintain at least a 3.0 GPA (unweighted)
Have received a score in the 90th percentile or better in math on a nationally standardized exam (i.e., SAT, PSAT, ACT, or PLAN) before the application deadline
Be enrolled in or have completed Pre-Calculus
Be able to commit for the entire six weeks of the program (no exceptions will be made for travel to other summer internship opportunities, sports camps, Mu Alpha Theta, etc.)
Maintain a permanent residence in the state of Florida

Veritas AI runs a deep dive course on AI and Medicine for high school students. The AI program is for ambitious school students, founded and run by Harvard graduate students. The instructor is a PhD Student at Oxford University. In the course, students learn the applications of AI in genomics, hospital admissions, drug discovery, and neuroscience!
Veritas AI is an In the Deep Dive: AI + Medicine program, students learn how AI is transforming healthcare and medicine. Students will work on projects to use AI & ML models to diagnose diseases, sharpen medical scans, and explain their outcomes to aid doctors and patients.
