A student must have and maintain:    

• Unweighted 3.0 GPA in all science courses and overall.

• Maintaining a B in an AP science class or a B in an honors science class is required. If a student’s science class grade falls below minimum requirements, student will be placed on probation. Students have one quarter to bring their grade back up to the required level. If the grade is not brought back up to meet minimum requirements within the quarter, the student will be dismissed from SciNHS.

• Be enrolled in an advanced science course (Honors, AP, Dual Enrollment)

• Pay annual dues on schoolpay.com ($25 for new members, $15 for current members)

• Volunteer a minimum of 8 hours per semester with the club. Suggestions: math or science tutoring, STEM related events, recycling program, Orlando Science center club events, etc. 

• It is MANDATORY for students to attend the induction ceremony, STEAM night, and to attend at least 5 meetings per year. Meetings are held once per month on the first Friday of the month after school in room 408 unless otherwise stated.

• If members do not attend minimum number of meetings and induction ceremony, they will have to complete extra community service hours. Summer community service does not count for first semester. 

• If members do not complete the required number of community service hours during each semester, they will be placed on probation and will have to complete additional community service hours. Members will have an opportunity to make up these hours the following semester. If these hours are not completed during the following semester the member will be dismissed from the club.

• Members of the club must maintain acceptable reputations and not post any illegal or inappropriate photos containing alcohol or drug use or nudity on social media. There is a zero tolerance policy.
