In Year 1, the children have a 'Numbots' account which gives the children the opportunity to practise their developing fluency skills. 'Numbots' is an online game which sets the children activities that get progressively more challenging. The activities may appear simple, but this game requires speed- encouraging the children to mentally recall number facts. This speed of recall really supports children's learning so playing this regularly at home is very beneficial. 

At Ravensmead, we understand the importance of being an independent and successful reader. Therefore, we encourage all children to read at least 4 times a week. Your child's books will be changed every Wednesday and reading diaries will be checked to see if they can be entered into the weekly 'Reading Raffle' for reading 4 times or more!
