The Phonics Screening Check
The Phonics Screening Check
The Phonics Screening check will take place for Year 1 children, usually around the end of May/beginning of June, 2024. We strongly request that all children attend school that week.
Any Year 2 children who are retaking the phonics screening check will also be completing it during the same week as the Year 1 children.

Here is the training video of how teachers must mark a phonics screening check. We try to make it a much more comfortable activity that this and the children do not know if they get a word wrong, they just get lots of encouragement from their teacher, in a comfortable, quiet space.
