During Fall 2025, I completed a diverse set of courses that provided a strong foundation for my academic journey at Fayetteville State University. My coursework included:
MATH 129: Precalculus Mathematics I- This course strengthened my problem-solving and analytical skills by covering key concepts such as functions, graphs, exponential and logarithmic equations, and trigonometric principles—laying the groundwork for future studies in science and mathematics.
HIST 110: World History to 1600- This class explored major civilizations and global developments from ancient times through 1600, helping me understand how historical events, cultures, and ideas shaped the modern world.
MUSI 225: History of Jazz in American Culture- Through listening, analysis, and discussion, I examined the evolution of jazz and its cultural impact in America—gaining insight into how music reflects and influences social change
BADM 220: Ethics and Civic Engagement- This course focused on ethical reasoning, social responsibility, and leadership in business and community settings. It encouraged me to think critically about moral decision-making and the importance of civic involvement.
UNIV 101: Freshman Seminar I- This seminar introduced me to academic success strategies, campus resources, and professional development opportunities, supporting my transition into university life and helping me set clear academic and career goals.
Each of these classes offered valuable insights that I can carry throughout my four-year academic career and into my future profession. Precalculus strengthened my problem-solving and analytical thinking skills, which are essential in my Chemistry major. World History and History of Jazz expanded my cultural awareness and appreciation for how the past shapes the present. Ethics and Civic Engagement encouraged me to think critically about social responsibility and my role as an engaged citizen. Freshman Seminar provided me with tools to successfully transition into college life and set the foundation for my academic success.
Collectively, these courses have not only helped me grow intellectually but also prepared me to think critically, work ethically, and approach challenges with a well-rounded perspective as I move toward my long-term goals.
