Thinking back on my classes from Semester 1 and how they will affect my future career as a nurse leader, as well as how I want to put what I've learned into practice:
Nursing Theory and Critical Thinking in Practice: Emphasizes the significance of critical thinking in nursing practice. I will apply critical thinking as a future nurse leader to analyze problems and come up with workable solutions. I will also include nursing theories to help me make decisions and improve the standard of patient care. Nursing Leadership Theories: Examining different leadership theories helped me to better understand the types of leadership that work in the healthcare industry. I hope to motivate interdisciplinary teams, promote cooperation, and prioritize patient-centered care through the application of flexible, transformative, and servant leadership approaches. The Nursing Informatics 1 course provided me a solid foundation in data management and healthcare technology, enabling me as a nurse leader to streamline workflows, improve communication, and make data-driven decisions. Professional Practice: This course focused on patient advocacy and adherence to professional standards. As a nurse leader, I will place a high value on making moral decisions, stand up for patient rights, and support laws that advance patient safety and fair treatment for all. By promoting a culture of professionalism, I shall uphold the College of Nurses of Ontario Standard of Practice that the purpose is to protect the public by promoting safe nursing practice (CNO,2023). Writing Strategies: This course improved my writing skills for nursing leadership roles, enhancing clear and concise communication thereby enhancing nursing quality.
To sum up. I'm determined to put these ideas into practice as a future nurse leader in order to improve patient care, encourage teamwork, and promote nursing practice excellence, ultimately advancing the nursing profession and healthcare delivery.
