Teachers continuously improve their professional practice, model lifelong learning, and exhibit leadership in their school and professional community by promoting and demonstrating the effective use of digital tools and resources.
Educators are to interact with others in order to promote professional growth. This can be done through the interaction at local and global learning events, participating in professional learning communities, and collaboration with peers. Educators will model these interactions with students to promote a lifelong learner mindset. Through the promotion of professional growth, educators will also reflect on current and past research, curriculum, and lessons to support up to date learning for all students.
Demonstrating to my students that I continue to learn is very important to me. The ICE 2018 conference is one example of how I am continuing to learn about upcoming trends and new technology that could be incorporated into my classroom. Through the attendance of the conference I am also able to gain new knowledge and understanding of how different digital tools and resources work. The conference recap video is the best example of how I gained new knowledge of google classroom for math through the session with Alice Keeler. The mini-unit on gamification demonstrates how I am seeking to apply the new trends into my classroom.
