Teachers exhibit knowledge, skills, and work processes representative of an innovative professional in a global and digital society.
Educators will be able to model the use of technology, knowledge, and skills for all learners. Through the use of new and old technologies, educators will interact with students and families, colleagues, and community members in ways that support achievement for all students. Within these interactions, educators will model and promote positive use of digital tools for learning.
The SAMR model presentation is a great example to share with other staff and students that shows how the SAMR model works itself, but also demonstrates for the students how to use different technology tools that are innovative in the current global and digital society. During the creation of the presentation, I was able to see how I could use a screencasting app to record my voice, and model a way for students to make a presentation even if they were not comfortable with speaking in front of their peers.
When starting the Learning Technologies program, one of the first courses had us look into Educational Technology with a current issue. This presentation demonstrates the use of technology within the classroom in a few different ways. First, it models to students how a presentation can be narrated within a powerpoint program. Second, it presents a topic on handwriting vs. typing, while providing a response on how both can influence a student's learning, as well as presents understanding that technology is not the only solution. Lastly, like my previous artifact, it models a way for students to have a voice even when they are not comfortable speaking in front of their peers.
