Helpful Information

Understanding attributes

  • Each attribute provides a bonus (modifier) to various stats and skills.

  • Attributes are converted to bonuses at every even number above or below 10 (8 = -1 bonus, 10 = 0 bonus, 12 = +1 bonus, 14 = +2 bonus, 16 = +3 bonus, etc.).

  • Odd numbered attributes are wasted: for example, increasing a stat from 20 to 24 or from 20 to 25 will do the same thing.

  • Attributes cannot be boosted more than 20 points from equipment, items, and buffs. For example, increasing dexterity by 23 points with master force valor (5), stimulants (6), and equipment (12), will only bestow 20 dexterity.

  • The force valor power increases all six attributes for the entire party for 20 seconds, making it the most useful force power in the game.

Strength

  • Affects chance to hit and damage with melee weapons (including lightsabers).

  • Does nothing for ranged characters.

Dexterity

  • Affects chance to hit with lightsabers if higher than strength, but does not affect damage: for example, a jedi with 18 dexterity and 12 strength will get +4 hit from dexterity, but +1 damage from strength.

  • Affects chance to hit with ranged weapons, but not damage. Ranged damage is based on the weapon and feats only.

  • Affects defense, but limited by the worn armor's max dexterity bonus: for example, an armor with a "max dexterity bonus" of +2 will only allow 2 bonus defense from dexterity, even if you have 20 dexterity.

  • Jedi robes ignore their max dexterity bonus.

Constitution

  • Gives 1 bonus hit point per modifier per level: for example, a character with 18 constitution will gain 4 bonus hit points per level.

  • More valuable at higher levels; items that boost constitution will have minimal effect at lower levels.

Intelligence

  • Affects computer use, demolitions, and repair skills.

  • Changes skill points gained at character creation and when leveling up, but only at 8, 10, 14, or 18: for example, a character created with 10 or 13 intelligence will have the same number of skill points. Every class gets a different amount of skill points based on intelligence.

  • Can only be boosted by master force valor (5) and Memory Package implant (1) for a total of 6. Boosts do not affect skill points gained at level up.

  • Acquiring the Memory Package requires betraying Gadon Thek.

Wisdom

  • Makes force powers harder for enemies to resist and dictates number of force points (mana).

  • Every item that increases wisdom is light side only. This is why consular builds should be light side.

  • Affects awareness skill.

Charisma

  • Makes force powers harder for enemies to resist and dictates number of force points (mana).

  • The only effect besides force valor that boosts charisma is consular light side mastery, which means it is light side only. This is why consular builds should be light side.

  • Affects persuade skill.
