Helpful Information

Maximizing credits and experience

Yavin

  • Sells the best items aside from one merchant that becomes available after completing three planets following Dantooine.

  • Do not sell items anywhere but Yavin; it has the highest buyback price of any location.

    • This means not selling anything on Taris or Dantooine.

    • This includes selling racing bonds and wraid plates.

  • Go here as soon as you are able and sell everything you are not using.

  • The merchant will provide a 20% discount if you beat him at Pazaak 10 times. Save before every match and reload if you lose. Always bet the maximum; you will earn 7,500 credits throughout the process.

    • The most reliable Pazaak deck is made entirely of +/- cards. Suggested: 1, 1, 2, 2, 3, 3, 4, 4, 5, 6.

    • This Pazaak guide has information about all opponents and where to get cards. Pazaak is a reliable source of credits, but can be skipped.

  • The merchant will change his stock after completing two planets after Dantooine, and again after completing two more.

    • Some items can be purchased multiple times this way.

    • Any items previously sold will be lost when his stock resets.

Making optimal quest choices

  • Save often and in different slots. Quicksave before starting conversations.

  • Getting the optimal outcome will often require double crossing or talking to both opposing parties before agreeing to ally with one.

  • StrategyWiki's full game walkthrough is largely spoiler-free and provides an area-by-area breakdown of quests and ways to gain experience, and describes the choices that will provide the greatest rewards.

Making credits and experience

  • Be sure to loot all enemies and containers.

  • Where possible, make choices that allow you to kill the most NPCs possible (generally dark side).

  • The only skill actions that provide experience (besides persuade) are slicing computers and repairing droids.

    • Enemies killed through these actions still give experience, even though it is not displayed.

    • Where possible, hot swap T3-M4 into the party to perform hacks and repairs; having a higher skill reduces the number of computer spikes and parts required. If not possible, consider leaving the terminal/droid and bring T3-M4 back later.

    • Cast force valor before beginning a hack or repairs; it is a group buff that increases attributes and works on droids.

    • See StrategyWiki's article on skill experience for a breakdown of all skill experience opportunities.

  • Recover landmines wherever possible to sell them later.

    • Spotting minor/average/deadly mines requires a party member with 0/10/20 awareness, respectively. Specialize a permanent party member to hit these breakpoints.

    • Deadly mines do not appear until Manaan and Korriban, which is partially why Tatooine and Kashyyyk are better choices for the first two planets.

    • See StrategyWiki's article on mines for a breakdown of all locations with mines.

    • Recovering minor/average/deadly mines requires 10/15/20 demolitions. Specialize a party member for this purpose. It is viable to make a non-permanent member your demolitions expert and swap them in as needed in most cases.

Infinite credits and experience

  • Dune Sea, Tatooine: There is a pack of desert wraid that will respawn every time you enter this location. This includes quick traveling back to your ship and back via the map menu, or saving and loading the game. Wraid plates can be sold on Yavin. I usually aim to be level 15-16 on my main character via this method before completing Tatooine.

  • Dreshdae, Korriban: This method also provides infinite dark side points. First, take Juhani to the Valley of the Dark Lords and speak to Dak. He will then go to the cantina in Dreshdae. Remove Juhani from your party, then speak to and kill him. He will drop a lightsaber crystal that is worth nearly 2,000 credits, and respawn in this location every time you exit and return as long as Juhani is not in your party.
