Defeating the final boss
Overview
The final boss primarily inflicts energy and electrical damage, and damage from force powers. Most of this damage can be entirely mitigated by the energy resistance force power and energy shields.
It is not reasonably possible to push defense high enough for the final boss to miss his attacks consistently.
A "to hit" of +36 will hit the boss 95% of the time.
Stimulants and energy shields are nice, but not required.
Hyper-adrenal strength/alacrity/stamina and Echani battle stimulants all stack and last 120 seconds.
The best shield is the Verpine Prototype Shield, which absorbs 120 energy damage and lasts 200 seconds.
The biggest danger during the final fight is stuns from critical hits. This is completely negated by immunity: mind-affecting.
The guardian build gains this from Stabilizer Mask.
The consular build gains this from Nerve Amplifier Belt.
Starting the fight
Before approaching the boss, cast improved energy resistance. It lasts 120 seconds, but the duration will tick down while the boss talks.
If using stimulants and/or an energy shield, use them now as well.
When combat starts, cast master speed and master valor, which last 36 and 20 seconds, respectively.
Watch the boss to see if he buffs himself.
During the fight
Always maintain energy resistance, speed, and valor, in that order. You can see which buffs are active in the character sheet menu.
The boss will cast force breach on you any time you are not in melee range and have buffs active. This will remove all of your buffs, including energy resistance.
Recast your buffs, always starting with energy resistance. If the boss continues to use breach, get closer before buffing.
If the boss has casted any buffs on himself, use force breach to remove them.
Hit the boss with plague to lower his attributes, which lowers his hit points and makes him easier to hit. It lasts 72 seconds and has a 95% chance of landing unless he has force immunity active. If you see "resisted" when trying to use force powers against him, use force breach to remove his immunity and try again.
If guardian, swing away with flurry. If consular, you can either melee, or attempt to use kill (force choke), which will drain half of the boss's hit points.
The second phase of the fight
This phase will be prefaced by a cutscene.
All of the above is still true, but with a twist: the boss will introduce targets around the room that he will destroy with drain to restore his hit and force points.
You can also destroy these targets with drain life/death field, which will completely refill your hit and force points. All of the targets must be eliminated to end the fight.
Using disable/destroy droid, throw lightsaber, or force breach on the targets will also destroy the targets and restore your force points, but not hit points.
Using choke/kill or force lightning/storm will destroy the targets but not restore anything.
Continue maintaining your buffs, especially energy resistance. Master speed will make it easier to get around and destroy all the targets.
Be ready for the boss to force breach your buffs off when you are out of melee range.
Use the same strategy as above while destroying the targets and damaging the boss.
