Seminar on Fodder Crops Held to Discuss about Base-Line Survey Results
Fodder crops seminar was held on August 9th at the NARC Conference Hall.
The speaker was Dr. Gurmani, Program Leader at the Crop Science Institute (CSI).
Including Dr. Cho (Director of KOPIA Pakistan Center), around 30 participants joined the seminar.
The subject of seminar was identifying of Current Fodder Crops Production Status in Pakistan.
Base-line survey was conducted to study the socioeconomic aspects and farming practices of the fodder- growing areas, and the number of animals in each household of the farmers of five provinces of Pakistan and AJ&K from 2021 to 2023. A total of 1,320 was conducted through a questionnaire.
The survey delved into various aspects, including land ownership, major fodder crops, others feed rations, marketing aspects of fodder/sources of seed.
The base-line survey result is expected to provide valuable data that can guide the formulation of Pakistan's future fodder policies.
