On June 11, 2024, the 8th monthly meeting was convened at the KOPIA Center in Islamabad, chaired by Dr. Cho Gyoungrae, the Director of KOPIA Center Pakistan. Also present were Mr. Nazar Iqbal, Director of Federal Seed Certification and Research and Development (FSC & RD), as well as representatives from NIGAB/NARC and KOPIA Pakistan. The primary agenda of the meeting was to review the monthly performance of the Potato seed project. Discussions revolved around summer plantation plans for field trials at MARC stations in Astore and Kharmang, in collaboration with the GB agriculture department. Notably, a total of 373,213 potato tubers were planted by various partners. Detailed deliberations took place regarding trials at the NARC KOPIA site, with a focus on the feasibility of introducing two new varieties for testing. The meeting concluded with an emphasis on the importance of continued close collaboration among KOPIA Pakistan partners, with expressions of gratitude from the chair.
