The Koike Lab develops multicellular organoids from human iPS cells and primary cells to recapitulate human organ structure and cellular interactions. We use these models together with in vivo systems and single-cell and spatial analyses to investigate organogenesis and age-related functional changes.
We are particularly interested in the hematopoietic and autonomic nervous systems and the cellular and inter-organ networks that connect them, with the goal of translating a mechanistic understanding of aging into strategies for functional restoration.
