Food for Families Spring Food Drive

LaGrange Knights of Columbus held the annual Spring Food for Families Drive on April 12. We appreciate the Jewel food stores in La Grange Park and Countryside for allowing us to collect at their locations. Our volunteers worked very hard to make this drive successful. We collected 4,200 pounds of food and monetary donations totaling $1,101.03 for the local food pantry and the Chicago Food Depository. Thank you to everyone who volunteered for this worthy cause. We could not have done this without you!

All who contributed by volunteering, giving food and monetary donations helped our neighbors in need. Thank you!

Food for Families Fall Food Drive

The La Grange Knights of Columbus held their Fall Food for Families Drive on October 26. We appreciate the Jewel stores in La Grange Park and Countryside for allowing us to return and collect at their locations. All of our volunteers worked very hard to make this drive the most successful in our history. We collected 590 bags of food and monetary donations of $688.55, which totaled 8,372 pounds. Thank you to everyone who volunteered for giving their time to this worthy cause. We could not have done this without you!

To anyone who gave us food or monetary donations, please know that your support is critical to assisting people in need. We appreciate your charitable contributions! The St. Francis office staff were helpful in publicizing the drive and providing assistance. Everyone working together makes our community a living example of faith in action.

Food for Families Spring Food Drive

The La Grange Knights of Columbus wish to thank everyone who supported the Spring Food for Families Food Drive. We collected 503 bags of food, $852.49 in monetary donations, which totaled to an estimate of 8,090 pounds collected. We appreciate the work of all of our volunteers. Thank you to the Jewel stores in La Grange Park and Countryside for allowing us to collect at their locations. We are grateful to Trader Joe's in La Grange for their very generous food donation. Special thanks to Priority Printing in Brookfield for providing services to support our printing needs. We appreciate the St. Francis office staff who worked well with us to publicize the drive and provide assistance. Thanks for another great job by the whole team!

FOOD FOR FAMILIES 2023 Fall Drive.

A special thank you to everyone who donated to the Knights of Columbus Food for Families drive. The food drive was a great success. A total of 300 bags of food were collected along with monetary donations of just over $1,300.

We appreciated all of the volunteers who distributed flyers, picked up donations, worked at the rectory to intake items, assisted at Jewel in LaGrange Park, and helped to unload the cars after Saturday’s 5:00 pm Mass. None of this could happen without you!

Special thanks to Mike Hattie for managing this ministry for 11 years and providing his guidance and support. We appreciate all of the efforts of this years leaders Carol and Craig Jacklin.

FOOD FOR FAMILIES FALL DRIVE 2016

I am so grateful for the generous support of my Brother Knights and your families and our community. You make a difference for our neighbors who rely on your help, and for everyone by your example of acting upon your values. With your help, over 2000 pounds of food were collected for the St Francis Xavier Food Pantry and $50 for the Greater Chicago Food Depository. The St Francis Food Pantry serves an average of 90 families (or approximately 275 individuals) each week. Each family receives non-perishable & perishable food as well as toilet paper. Homeless clients receive a bag specially packed to meet their needs (ready- to-eat, pop-top cans, paper plates, bowls, utensils, cold drinks, etc.). Leftover perishables are donated to the Constance Morris House, a home for abused women and children. The food pantry also shares food with BEDS Plus, an overnight shelter organization for the homeless.

Thank you for your important contribution to the success of this drive, and the success of this pantry, and this important social need in our community.

ABOUT ST FRANCIS XAVIER FOOD PANTRY: Our mission is twofold: (1) to provide supplemental nutritious food assistance to those in need in a safe, respectful & prayerful environment & (2) to partner with our community to support the pantry through food drives & volunteer opportunities. KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS LAGRANGE COUNCIL 6483 partners with local youth, family and community groups to distribute flyers & collect food in the community & deliver it to local food pantries. Projects helps local teens get community service hours & helps the food pantry to provide nutritional assistance to local residents of the community. Aligning the needs of the local council, local youth & community groups, the local food pantry & local residents benefits all of us when we work together. Knights of Columbus Council 6483 wishes to thank the parishioners of St Cletus Parish for your support of the Holiday Food Drive on October 26. And THANK YOU to Mary Beth Ford who runs the Food Pantry for partnering with us on this wonderful project. The St. Cletus Food Pantry distributes a bag of non-perishable groceries from the vestibule of the Church on the second Thursday of the month from 6:30 – 8:00 pm, to 200-250+ families. Thank you Mary Beth and your volunteer “Worker Bees” for the good and important work you do providing nutritional assistance to families in our community.
