2020 Coat & Outerwear Drive –Thank You
Despite the unusual circumstances; the 2020 Knights of Columbus Coat/Outerwear Drive was a success! And we are grateful to all donors, volunteers, parishioners and neighbors for your generosity.
We collected outerwear that filled half of a truck. The donations were provided to Catholic Charities of Chicago, who were very grateful to restock their diminishing supply of outerwear. In addition, an option to donate funds electronically was introduced, where we collected several hundred dollars.
It is because of your selflessness, that you will help many people stay warm during the upcoming cold months. Thank you!

2014 Coat Drive
The Knights of Columbus #6483 second annual coat drive was a success and produced a variety of warm clothing to keep those in need a bit warmer this winter.
Catholic Charities picked up the coats and other articles on 11/17. The the clothing will be distributed to families in need by Catholic Charities. The lot of clothes almost filled the entire bus!
Maricella Gomez, Manager of Catholic Charities had a smile from ear to ear when she saw the number of bags filled with outerwear. She mentioned that many families are in need of coats - especially this winter since we expect a very harsh cold spell this season.
The Knights of Columbus would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Quest groups led by the
Freeman and DeLaRosa families who volunteered to distribute flyers and pick-up coats, numerous other volunteers - and co-chairs, Les Bonaguro, and Anthony Chimento for their dedication to this cause.
We also would like to thank Saint Francis Xavier Church and Fr. John Hoffman for allowing the Knights of Columbus #6483 to collect outerwear before masses as well as the Fox Valley Victoria’s Secret store which collected 50 coats on our behalf.

2013 Coat Drive
I am pleased to report that we collected 624 coats during the Knights of Columbus Council 6483 Coat Drive!!!!
The coats will go to Catholic Charities on Monday. They mentioned that they are very grateful especially since this year they are almost out of coats and people are cold.
Many thanks to everyone especially the co-chairs, Jason Carver, Mike Kalkowski and Mike Hattie for their efforts in making it a
success. Jason’s third grade service project produced numerous coats. Mike Hattie did yeoman’s work with this effort as usual. And, special thanks to Mike Kalkowski and his daughter, Caroline who helped count the coats today which fills about 1/2 of my garage about 3-4 ft. high.
I would also like to acknowledge Luz and Jose’ DeLaRosa who came though in a big way by getting young adults from Religious Education involved and pitched in themselves distributing flyers and picking up coats.
It is being involved in efforts like this which make me be proud to be associated with the Knights of Columbus.
