Welcome to The Dragon's Guide to Companions, where one can find all they need to know about the many critters that inhabit the world alongside us! When properly cared for, a companion has the potential to assist an adventurous Kodai in reaping better rewards in various ways. However, be advised that it is virtually impossible for one to handle too many beasts at once. The more experienced you are at keeping, the more companions you'll be able to take along on your adventures.

At No Rank, a Kodai may equip a max of 3 companions.

At Ganma rank, a Kodai may equip an additional companion, totaling 4.

Activity Companions

Japanese Emperor Butterfly

Allows for an activity result to be rerolled one time.

Kingfisher

Provides a +2 JP bonus to pieces that feature its Kodai. Only applies to the Kodai with this companion.

Magpie

Provides a chance to find between 1-500 Yin in activities, alongside a small chance to find 1,000 Yin.

Black Grass Lizard

Provides a +10% chance for stats to be located in activities.

Koi Fish

Provides a 10% chance for extra Spirit items to be located in Spirit Seeking.

Blue Tailed Grass Lizard

Provides a +5% chance to locate other companions in activities.

Wolf

Provides a +10% chance to find an additional item while exploring.

Yaku Deer

Provides a +10% chance to find additional plant items in exploring.

Red-Crowned Crane

Medium chance of replicating a common item result in an Exploration, Hunting or Spirit Seeking activity.

Breeding Companions

Red Fox

Provides a chance for any coat type to appear in a breeding, regardless of parents coat types.

Black Fox

Provides a chance for a random rare or uncommon marking to appear in a breeding.

White Fox

Provides a chance for an extra Welp to appear in a breeding, regardless of the original amount.
