nKf/KfKf | Rare
A two tone marking like that of Skewbald, named after the pattern appearing much like a koi fish.
Koi Fish must either be hard edged or soft edged!
One Koi Fish layer must be lighter than the base, and the other layer must be darker than the base coat.
Koi Fish Guide
Koi Fish can be broken down into two layers, a lighter layer and a darker layer. Both can act like Skewbald or Ash, though the lighter layer of Koi Fish does not act as a white marking.
The lighter layer can be any color allowed by the base. They can be layered in any order with each other.
Koi Fish layers cannot be very blended on the edges, and both layers cannot be darker or lighter, there must be one layer of each.
There also cannot be lots of small broken parts or 'flecks' as it mostly a whole marking, some breakaway is fine.
Koi Fish can also be nuanced! This is when the marking is slightly erased to show the color that's beneath. It should be subtle, and should not change how the marking appears, or make it look like another marking entirely!
When using a nuance, you should still be able to see the marking edges, like the above example. If too much is erased, your design may be sent back to corrections!
Nuance does not allow for the marking to completely fade away, or have the markings edge only just visible. Nuance should be subtle!
