Ash Guide
Ash is a dark marking that goes over all other markings.
The marking must be black, or off-black, able to be tinted slightly toward the base coat color.
Ash cannot be too light, even if it is still darker than the base. It must fall more into the black ranges, but also can't be 'jet black' as we need to be able to see the lineart.
Ash also can't be blended or very soft edged.
Ash can also be nuanced! This is when the marking is slightly erased to show the color that's beneath. It should be subtle, and should not change how the marking appears, or make it look like another marking entirely!
When using a nuance, you should still be able to see the marking edges, like the above example. If too much is erased, your design may be sent back to corrections!
Nuance does not allow for the marking to completely fade away, or have the markings edge only just visible. Nuance should be subtle!
