Language and Literacy diagnostics typically require two days of testing. The first day will be billed as 92523, the second as 96125 (You will need this information for your SOAP notes).
Students will take turns administering subtests.
For students 6 and up, we will almost certainly be administering the TILLS, and usually the CTOPP and TNL. Most of our clients are this age range.
For students younger than 6, we will almost certainly be administering the ALL and the TNL.
We typically schedule a follow up Zoom call two weeks after the second appt to go over the results of the assessment with the parent. I often schedule these for 12:00 noon on Thursdays, but this can be adjusted so that students are able to attend.
These videos will introduce you to two of the standardized measures we will use in a language and literacy evaluation, the TILLS and the CTOPP. Find additional diagnostic resources here.
I will ask Hassan to give you access to the LangLit Dx Fall 2021 folder on the HIPAA drive. You will find templates and sample reports in this folder. Use the samples to give you ideas about wording or organization, but DO NOT COPY AND PASTE FROM A SAMPLE OR PREVIOUS REPORT. Doing this may results in an F in clinic and possible further disciplinary action. I can ALWAYS tell if you have done this.
It is important to highlight the client's strengths as well as their weaknesses.
It is VERY important to read through the report to check for the following:
Spelling, punctuation, and grammatical errors. PROOFREAD. Excessive errors of this kind make all supervisors angry. We should not have to spend time proofreading your report-we need to spend out time focusing on the content and organization. If there are more than 3 proofreading errors, I will send the report back to you.
