Digital Fabrication and Simple Electronics
EDTC 5341 was my favorite class in my coursework. I am a Maker. Tinkering, creating, exploring, iterating, building, designing, this is what excites me. This course had us learning in action. Each class we had our hands exploring something new and exciting. We covered a variety of maker materials including 2-d design using digital software and using subtractive printing on a Cameo machine. We built 3d models using both affordable materials such as hot glue and paper and also designed 3d models in CAD software that we were able to print on a 3d printer. We worked with textiles and electric circuits and discovered the beautiful marriage of these two things. This class was full of discovery and joy.
I chose to use my Auto-ethnographic Reflection as my artifact for this course as it showcases my learning experience in its entirety. In the video you hear my reflection on the learning that took place in the course and will see several examples of the projects that I was able to work. Putting together this final reflection was a helpful process for me to consider all the ground that had been covered and learning that had taken place.
Reflections are a huge part of the work that I do with leaners and am always thinking about new ways to have reflections take place. I will use this style of reflection in the future with learners.
