Intro to Educational Technology
EDTC 5310 was my first course that I took for the program. This was an online course that allowed for me to get a sense of the program and develop some new skills. One of my favorite projects we worked on during that course was the ongoing blog on WordPress. This exposed me to the world of blogging both how to generate content as well as work through the technical pieces to creating a blog that is aesthetically pleasing and useful.
I would not consider myself a very strong writer, however this is a skill I am interested in working on and have been doing just that over the course of my time in graduate school. This was probably the biggest challenge for me in this specific project. As I continued working on this I became excited that this would be the perfect way to help me develop this skill and potentially be able to contribute to my schools blog in the future.
I loved taking 5310, it helped to ignite my excitement about the program and exposed me to a lot of amazing tools that I could use right away for myself as a teach as well as for my learners.
I also included my digital storytelling piece that I created in this class as well. I had been exposed to the world of digital storytelling before, but had not used Adobe Spark before. This tool was very easy to use and was something that I took back to my students right away.
Both of these works are examples of my creative mind getting to play. In this course I was able to take the time to explore and play with new digital tools and challenge myself in new ways. Whether I am exploring something I am familiar with or something completely new I am open and eager to learn, iterate, and create and both of these artifacts are evidence of just that.
