Born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, I am a first generation college graduate. My passion for advancing and promoting quality education has lead me to great heights of success and happiness and also brought me to Texas. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Child Development and Family Studies from Southern University at New Orleans. I am now finishing my Master of Education degree in Educational Technology at Texas State University.
I began my education career at a young age. My experiences working as a nanny, babysitter, camp counselor, and mentor throughout high school and my undergraduate years of college allowed me to actively attain hands on experience with children and families from diverse backgrounds. Additionally, from being a caregiver to infants and toddlers, I know how important every aspect in a child's life matters. I am currently working as a STEM teacher to kindergarten through sixth grade students. I also dual as the Instructional Technology Specialist and assist with our district websites when needed.
My education and experience all tie into my goal of increasing educational technology knowledge, confidence, and implementation in schools. I plan to continue working diligently with teachers, administrators, students, etc. upon completion of my Educational Technology Master's degree.
