This assignment was completed as a group project. For this project, our assignment was to create an educational video. To do so, we first had to learn about lighting, editing, sound, effects, and everything else that videography entails. After we learned about that, we then had to create scripts that could be used for creating a video. The scripts included time frames, location ideas, the technology that is needed, etc.
Once I group chose a script, we began working to get the necessary approval from the company who we wanted to promote in the video. When that didn’t go as we planned, we had to go with another script that was our backup plan. After reworking all the logistics, we finally got to shoot our interviews of each other with interview questions that we previously created. After each interview during our video shoot we needed to readjust the camera focus, check the sound, and lighting to the next person that was interviewed. Knowing how to create quality interviews and videos is a great skill to have as an educational technologist. Whether it is just for when you are being interviewed, to create educational videos, or teach others about videography.
The rough cut of our video is below.
Educators dedicate time to collaborate with both colleagues and students to improve practice, discover and share resources and ideas, and solve problems. Educators:
4a Dedicate planning time to collaborate with colleagues to create authentic learning experiences that leverage technology.
4b Collaborate and co-learn with students to discover and use new digital resources and diagnose and troubleshoot technology issues.
4c Use collaborative tools to expand students' authentic, real-world learning experiences by engaging virtually with experts, teams and students, locally and globally.
4d Demonstrate cultural competency when communicating with students, parents and colleagues and interact with them as co-collaborators in student learning.
Educators design authentic, learner-driven activities and environments that recognize and accommodate learner variability. Educators:
5a Use technology to create, adapt and personalize learning experiences that foster independent learning and accommodate learner differences and needs.
5b Design authentic learning activities that align with content area standards and use digital tools and resources to maximize active, deep learning.
5c Explore and apply instructional design principles to create innovative digital learning environments that engage and support learning.
