Molise Folk Costumes Museum
The collection consists of over 80 complete costumes and over 100 clothing elements, all original pieces, which come from those countries of Molise that have, more than others, maintained over time the use of customary traditional clothing. The section - 1000 pieces - is particularly rich, dedicated to popular goldsmiths, mostly produced in Agnone that, like Naples, the capital of the Kingdom, established itself for the excellence and refinement of the workmanship. The geographical reference of the exposure is not the current Molise, but a larger entity responding to ancient divisions of the territory, in fact Abruzzo and Molise have been a single region until recently.
