In this activity, students learned abut the 7 Elements of Art. These are something I focus on throughout each project. By having them in their sketchbook, students can refer back to them as a resource throughout the trimester.

This activity was students' first time looking at and identifying the formal elements in an artwork. They used their Elements of Art library to identify at least 3 elements of art in the image. Students drew the image as well to look at it closer and get to know it better.

This activity builds off of the observational drawing students did during the Figure Drawing lesson. Here students drew a still life, focusing on accurately depicting the space, forms, and textures. This activity helped prepare students for the next lesson where they did observational drawing outside of trees (seen in last image).
