CKD: Lipids
CKD: Lipids
Hypertriglyceridemia is a known complication of chronic kidney disease due to delayed catabolism from decreased activity of hepatic triglyceride lipase and peripheral lipoprotein lipase.
Triglyceride levels may decrease overtime, especially with low fat diet, but this may also depend on kidney recovery. Also consider familial causes of hypertriglyceridemia and possibly genetic testing.
