Colorado's Climate Future

Overview

In Colorado, water resources are paramount for understanding climate change impacts to human and natural systems. However, gaps between projections of Colorado’s future climate and public perception are large. Locally-relevant visions of Colorado’s future conveyed in a familiar format, such as speculative fiction, can bridge this gap and mobilize engagement with science. The objective of this research was to pilot a new method for localizing large-scale climate change scenarios to Colorado, using water resources as the lens and story-based futures as the approach.
